Frequently Asked Questions
1. The Basics: What to Expect
-
What actually happens during a sound bath?
You’ll lie down comfortably (usually on a yoga mat) while I play a variety of therapeutic instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. The "bath" isn't water; it’s being submerged in the sound waves, which help shift your brain from a state of "doing" to a state of "being."
-
Do I need to do anything?
Not at all. Your only "job" is to breathe and listen. It is a passive experience, making it perfect for those who find traditional "sitting" meditation difficult.
2. Preparation: What to Bring
-
What should I wear?
Comfort is priority. Think cozy socks, leggings, or joggers. Since your body temperature drops when you relax deeply, we recommend layers.
-
What should I bring with me?
To ensure you're as cozy as possible, we suggest bringing:
-
A yoga mat or padded topper.
-
A warm blanket and a small pillow.
-
An eye mask (optional, but highly recommended for deepening the experience).
-
A bottle of water for after the session.
-
3. Health & Suitability
-
Is a sound bath suitable for everyone?
While sound healing is generally safe, it is not recommended for:
-
Women in their first trimester of pregnancy.
-
Those with a pacemaker or metal implants (the vibrations can be intense).
-
Individuals with sound-induced epilepsy.
-
-
Can I attend if I have tinnitus?
Yes, many people with tinnitus find it soothing, but we suggest positioning yourself further away from the instruments.
4. Logistics & Booking
-
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. Once the "doors" close and the bowls begin, we cannot allow late entry as it disturbs the meditative space for others.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand life happens. You can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before the event for a full refund. Within 48 hours, we are unable to offer refunds but you are welcome to "gift" your spot to a friend.

When you join us for a sound session, you can expect an experience grounded as much in physics as in relaxation. Sound healing works through the principles of psychoacoustics and vibroacoustic therapy, utilizing specific frequencies to influence the body’s nervous system. By engaging with consistent, harmonic vibrations, the brain is encouraged to shift from the active "Beta" state associated with stress and cognitive processing into the more restorative "Alpha" and "Theta" states. This process, known as entrainment, helps lower cortisol levels and heart rate while triggering the parasympathetic nervous system’s relaxation response. Rather than just a passive listening exercise, it is a mechanical process where sound waves physically interact with the body’s tissues to reduce tension and facilitate a deep, meditative state of physiological rest.

Following your session, you might wonder, "How will I feel once I leave the studio?" Because sound therapy initiates a significant shift in your nervous system, it is common to experience a range of physiological responses. Some individuals feel a surge of mental clarity and physical energy, while others may feel deeply relaxed or even a bit tired as the body continues to process the transition out of a high-stress state. This "rebound" effect is a natural part of the recalibration process. We encourage you to stay hydrated and allow yourself a quiet evening to integrate the experience, as your body remains in a heightened state of recovery long after the last bowl has stopped singing.
